Answering Your Most Common Questions About Stages, Risers, and StageRight Products
July 9th, 2026

Hi, I’m Kip with StageRight. After years of helping schools, churches, and theaters, and arenas find the right staging solutions, I’ve noticed many customers ask the same great questions. Here are some of the most common conversations I have.
“How many people do I need to set up a stage?”
One of the things customers appreciate most about our portable staging systems is how easy they are to handle. Most StageRight portable staging and Fold & Roll systems can be set up and managed by just two people. Of course, if you’re working on a larger event or more complex layout, having a few extra hands can make the process even faster.
“How do I know what stage height is right for my space?”
This is one of the first questions I ask customers. The best stage height depends on the room and the audience.
For smaller spaces or more intimate gatherings, a lower stage is often the best choice. If you’re working in a larger venue where audiences are seated farther back, a taller platform can improve visibility and sightlines. Systems like our AlphaRoll and Z System offer dual-height options that provide additional flexibility. If you’re not sure what height makes the most sense, I’m always happy to help evaluate your space and make a recommendation.
“What should I know about storage?”
Every StageRight system is designed with storage in mind. Our stages store compactly on custom transport carts, making setup and teardown much easier.
One thing I always recommend is checking your facility’s doorways, hallways, and elevators before purchasing. We want to make sure your storage carts can move easily throughout your building.
“Do I need guardrails?”
In many situations, yes. Building codes often require guardrails once a stage reaches a certain height.
Since requirements can vary by location, I always encourage customers to check their local regulations to make sure they’re meeting all applicable safety standards.
“Where are StageRight products made?”
I’m proud to tell customers that every StageRight product is manufactured right here in the United States at our family-owned facility in Clare, Michigan.
We utilize advanced manufacturing processes including laser-cut steel, robotic welding, and durable powder-coat finishes to build products that are designed to perform for years.
“Can StageRight create a custom solution for my space?”
Absolutely. Every facility is different, and sometimes a standard configuration isn’t the perfect fit.
Our engineering team regularly designs custom solutions, including pit covers, stage extensions, and other specialized configurations. To get started, I’ll typically ask for photos of the space along with accurate floor dimensions and ceiling heights so our team can evaluate the project.
“What’s covered under the warranty?”
All new StageRight products are backed by a one-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service.
